Pair of armchairs model “Margherita,” designed by Franco Albini in 1951 and produced by Bonacina
Margherita is considered the first “legless” armchair of Italian design. The piece pays homage to the poor and authentic tradition of popular craftsmanship, such as that of basket makers. Albini uses a refined engineering device of tensile structure to create an aerial form of seat.
This design piece won the award of the Milan Triennale in 1951.
