Side table

Elegant low table designed by Gio Ponti and produced by Fontana Arte, Italy, circa 1950.
The sculptural solid wood structure supports a rectangular crystal top, perfectly expressing Ponti’s pursuit of balance between lightness, material precision, and architectural form.
The sinuously curved wooden frame, both structural and decorative, anticipates the designer’s later explorations of organic geometry and refined craftsmanship.
An outstanding example of Ponti’s collaboration with Fontana Arte in the 1950s, where modern transparency meets Italian excellence.
