Volumnia is pleased to announce that part of the space of the former St. Augustine’s Church is hosting an exhibition dedicated to the winners of the third edition of the Duchy Prize. The exhibition hosted by Volumnia presents not only the works of the six finalists in the Contemporary Art and Academy Art sections, but also the works of last year’s winning artists Guendalina Cerruti, Pietro Agostoni, Monia Ben Hamouda, Byron Gago, Clarissa Baldassarri and Giulia Crivellaro.

The Ducato Prize was born between the provinces of Parma and Piacenza, from the need to raise awareness of contemporary art in the area, focusing on national and international artists of the latest generations, who through their research are able to provoke critical reflection on the most significant aspects of our contemporaneity. The prize is divided into two sections: Contemporary Art Award and Art Academy Award. The initiative will therefore be aimed at rewarding both artists who have already embarked on a path within the contemporary art world and younger artists, still enrolled at educational institutions, in order to stimulate their growth The Ducato Prize for its third edition involved a jury distinguished by the professionalism and heterogeneity of its members: Leonardo Bigazzi (Curator of Lo schermo dell’Arte, Florence), Zoe De Luca (independent curator, Milan), Marta Papini (artistic organizer of the 59th Venice Art Biennale 2022), Chris Sharp (independent curator, Mexico City) and Paolo Zani (Gallerist, Zero… Milan).
The jury was tasked with selecting, from the applications received, forty artists from the Contemporary Art section and ten from the Academy Art section, from which three finalists for each section will emerge.

Joining the jury this year in choosing the winner is a large board of collectorswhich viewed the entries and portfolios of the selected artists: the artists thus had an additional opportunity for comparison and growth. Among collectors: Emilio Alvarez, Emilio Bordoli, Mauro De Iorio, Frédéric De Goldschmidt, Erminia Di Biase, Andrea Fustinoni, Vittorio Gaddi, Marina Nissim, Veronica Siciliani Fendi, and Marco Zappalorto.
